Multi Channel Systems

Contact Us

Multi Channel Systems focuses on the development of precision scientific measuring instrumentation and equipment in the field of electrophysiology for research groups at universities and for the pharmaceutical industry.

We provide solutions for extra-cellular recordings with microelectrode arrays in vitro and in vivo as well as for electrical stimulation. Over 20 years of experience and our international distribution network make us the global market leader in the field of non-clinical electrophysiology with microelectrode arrays. Moreover, we offer devices for automated RNA injection and for the automated two-electrode voltage-clamp recording of Xenopus oocytes. Because of their modular principle, our products can be extended and adjusted to your specific experimental needs. Apart from their flexibility, our products fit into your laboratories because of their size.

People

Jannis Meents

Principal Investigator

Dr. Jannis Meents studied Biological Sciences at Humboldt-University Berlin and gained his Diploma in 2009 in migraine research. In 2014, he obtained his PhD in Pharmacology at the University of Cambridge, UK on the topic of ion channel pharmacology and electrophysiology. He went on to work as a postdoctoral researcher at the University Hospital of the RWTH Aachen, Germany, further specializing in ion channel electrophysiology and stem cell research.

In April 2020, Jannis joined MCS as Head of Research Projects and Predevelopment. In this role, Jannis is responsible for the management and initiation of research projects and for the predevelopment activities at MCS.

Armin Walter

Dr. Armin Walter is a software developer at Multi Channel Systems (MCS) specialized in the processing of electrophysiological signals and the control of data acquisition devices. Before joining MCS in 2014, he did a PhD in Computer Science at the University of Tübingen, Germany, working on closed-loop brain-computer interfaces for stroke rehabilitation.
