People

Michael Netzer

Michael Netzer is an electrophysiologist who graduated in Molecular Cell – and Developmental Biology from the University of Innsbruck in 2020 where he already specialized on the patch clamp technique and ion channel pharmacology. After completing his studies, he continued to work as a research project associate until he eventually moved to Vienna in 2021 to pursue a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Vienna under the supervision of Prof. Steffen Hering at ChanPharm. In the context of the TOX Free Project Michael’s main research objective is the development of novel drug screening technologies for studying the electrical activity of stem cell derived cardiac cells.

Bozhidar Baltov

Bozhidar Baltov graduated in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Bradford. From 2017 until 2019 he studied at the University of Applied Sciences, Vienna and the University of Vienna where he obtained his MSc in Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine. Currently, he’s a PhD student at ChanPharm and develops novel technologies for electrophysiological studies on 2 D and 3 D cultures of stem cell derived cardiac cells.
